Car Rental Agreement

Payment is due in full prior to or at the time of vehicle pickup. Accepted payment methods: Cash App, Apple Pay, Zelle, Chime.

4. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of $200 is required immediately to secure booking. Deposit will be returned upon vehicle return if no damage or excessive cleaning is needed. The vehicle condition will be assessed within 24 hours of drop-off. The $200 security deposit will then be refunded, less any applicable charges, following completion of the inspection.

5. Use of Vehicle

Renter agrees to the following:

  • Vehicle will be operated only by the Renter.
     

  • Vehicle will not be used for racing, towing, or any unlawful purposes.
     

  • Vehicle will not be driven outside the state of Michigan.

 

  • NO SMOKING or VAPING in the vehicle.
     

  • No pets allowed unless otherwise agreed in writing.
     

6. Mileage and Fuel Policy
 

  • Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup (__FULL__ level).

  • Daily Mileage Allowance

    Each rental includes a maximum allowance of 200 miles per day.
     

  • Weekly & Monthly Allowances
     

    • Weekly rentals: 1,400 miles total (200 miles × 7 days).
       

    • Monthly rentals: 6,000 miles total (200 miles × 30 days).
       

  • Excess Mileage Fee
     

    • Any mileage driven beyond the included allowance will be charged at $0.25 per mile.
       

    • Excess mileage fees will be calculated at the end of the rental period and will be deducted from the security deposit or charged to the renter’s payment method on file.
       

  • Odometer & Monitoring
     

    • Mileage is calculated based on the vehicle’s odometer reading at check-out and check-in.
       

    • The renter is responsible for ensuring that the odometer is not tampered with. Any evidence of tampering will result in additional fees and possible termination of the rental agreement.
       

  • Geographic Limits
     

    • The vehicle must remain in Michigan within a 50-mile radius of Detroit, Michigan at all times, unless written permission is granted by the rental company.
       

    • Unauthorized travel outside of this range may result in additional charges, forfeiture of the security deposit, or immediate termination of the rental agreement.
       

7. Condition and Damages

Renter agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition it was received, minus normal wear and tear.
Any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning may result in charges withheld from the deposit or billed separately.

8. Insurance & Liability

Renter affirms they carry valid auto insurance and a driver’s license. Renter is responsible for any damage not covered by insurance. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to handover.

9. Early Return or Late Fee

  • Early return does not result in a refund of unused days unless agreed upon by the owner.
     

  • Late return will forfeit the special rate and revert to $/day plus a late fee of $25/hour.  

 

  • Rental length extension must be approved by the owner prior to the extension
     

10. Termination

Owner reserves the right to terminate the rental at any time if the terms are violated.

11.Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. However, due to the nature of our booking process, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • All reservations require a $200 deposit to secure the vehicle.
     

  • If a reservation is canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled vehicle pickup time, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from the deposit.
     

  • The remaining $150 will be refunded to the original payment method.
     

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled pickup time will receive a full refund of the $200 deposit.
     

By booking with us, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation policy.

 12. Indemnification

 

  • The Renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Metro Motion Car Rentals LLC, its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs) arising out of or related to:

 

  • The Renter’s use or operation of the rental vehicle;
     

  • Any breach of this Agreement by the Renter;
     

  • Any negligent, reckless, or intentional act or omission by the Renter or any other driver permitted by the Renter;
     

  • Any traffic or parking violations incurred during the rental period;
     

  • Any property damage, bodily injury, or death resulting from the use of the rental vehicle during the rental period.
     

  • This indemnification obligation shall survive the termination of this Agreement.

 

13. Vehicle Tracking Disclosure

For safety and security purposes, all rental vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking devices. These devices may appear on your phone as a notification. Tracking is used solely to protect the vehicle, ensure timely returns, and assist in case of emergency. By signing this agreement, you acknowledge and consent to the use of GPS tracking during the rental period.

🔹Personal Belongings

Metro Motion Car Rentals LLC is not responsible for any personal items left in the vehicle in the event of return, repossession, theft, loss, or damage. Renter is responsible for removing all personal belongings before returning the vehicle or if payment issues arise.

Metro Motion Car Rentals LLC - Rental Agreement: Vehicle Damage Policy

1. Vehicle Condition at Check-Out & Check-In

The Renter agrees that the vehicle was inspected and photographed before the rental began, and agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition, excluding normal wear and tear. A final inspection will be completed within 24hrs upon return, and any new damage not noted on the initial inspection form will be the responsibility of the Renter.

2. Damage Fee Schedule

The following damage fees may be charged for new damage identified at check-in. Charges may include, but are not limited to:

3. Security Deposit

A refundable security deposit of $200 is required at the time of rental. Any repair or cleaning costs will be deducted from this deposit if applicable. If damages exceed the deposit, the Renter agrees to be charged the remaining balance.

4. Payment for Damages

If damage is found, the Renter will be notified within 48 hours and provided with photos and a summary of charges. Charges may be deducted from the deposit or charged to the card on file.

5. Dispute Process

If the Renter disagrees with a damage charge, they must notify Metro Motion Car Rentals LLC in writing within 5 days of receiving the damage notice. The company will review the claim and provide any documentation (photos, inspection reports, etc.) for transparency.
